Hello! My name is
Cheriese Nordling and I am caretaker for Sweet Whispers &
Whims. I am a native LA city girl living in the Poconos
(but that’s a whole ‘nother story.)
All designs with
the SWW name come from me. I am a self-taught doll maker.
I start with a clean spot and create chaos. I love
storytelling and fabrics. My characters have evolved from
that particular corner in my heart. Also, I am a pattern
maniac. Yes I confess!
I have never actually finished
one that I’ve bought, but my home is chock-full of body
parts! I have found patterns to be reassuring teachers,
sources of inspiration and fun jumping off points.
I
promise that each of my patterns is made to the best of my

 Harvey RootNose
Come each First Harvest this grinning, raucous–raising spirit and his fellow routies awaken to holler and haunt in the tangled Pumpkin briar that separates Old Manor’s garden from the stirring hushes of Whispering Wood.
Harvey RootNose is fashioned from wool felt, painted sanded and sealed. He measures 18” tall and 16X16 across not counting the big fellow’s 10” nose. His stem is made of treated paper. His twisty vine is painted cloth over wire. Painted felt leaves crown his pumpkin head.

 MesBelle & Her Pretties
Miss MesBelle Cat protects the Old Manor from the uninvited. Her pets, The Pretties, fly fast & have very sharp teeth! If I were you and I was going out walking that way? I would be sure to take along some primo catnip…just in case!
MesBelle is fashioned from wool felt, painted, sanded and sealed. She measures 17”tall. Her glass eyes stare cool and bewitching. Her ears, whiskers and tail are wired. Her elegant cloak flows full and long, tying at the throat.
The Pretties are fashioned from handmade paper, stiffened fabric and tulle. Always ready to pounce!
