Jericho Mountain Folkart
My
dolls are reminiscent of the naive style of the popular folkart
portraits of the early 19th c. by such artists as Ammi Phillips
as well as the cloth dolls of Izannah Walker and other 19th
c. cloth doll artists. I try to recreate same feeling of charm
in my work, to emulate the simplicity of Early American country
design, combined with the warmth of gentle aging.
In 2001 I was honored to be chosen for the Directory of Top
200 Traditional Craftsmen by Early American Life®
magazine. I am also a juried member of the Pennsylvania
Guild of Craftsmen and was selected as the featured
artist in the Spring 2002 issue of Bucks County Town
and Country Living® magazine.
