Clementine; A sewing Companion

Clementine is a 15 inch cabinet size folk doll
made of black prairie cloth, with embroidered features and
wonderful spun wool hair. Clementine wears a cotton dress
gathered at the neckline, waist, and sleeves; which features a
full skirt trimmed with hand sewn running stitch. Clementine
also wears an apron made of tan prairie cloth which has been
embellished with a wee cross stitch strawberry pocket motif and
a backstitch alphabet at the hem. She wears a brass thimble
charm around her neck. Clementine hopes to be helpful by
offering her Strawberry Pin-keep to hold all your loose pins!
All the embroidery on Clementine has been worked with over dyed
cotton floss from Weeks Dye Works. Her pin-keep was made out of
cotton velvet, but works up great in wool too! Her apron was
stitched on prairie cloth for a primitive look, but 28 count
linen in a dirty brown color would work very well too!

Mary
Pickford Hill - Colonial Doll
Mary Pickford
Hill - 26" Doll. Mary is designed to resemble a child of
the American Colonial period, around the late 18th century.
Her little linen pocket is a tiny replica of those that our
colonial sisters actually wore inside their clothing, usually
under the skirt. A slit would be sewn into the side seam of
her dress with the pocket worn beneath! You can choose to make
Mary and/or her pocket out of osnaburg or linen. All directions
are given for doll, clothing, and pocket.

Lettie
Lettie is
a 28" black painted folk doll with individual wired fingers
and needle sculpted toes. Her large size, vintage clothing,
and aged appearance make her the perfect doll to mix with antiques
or sit upon a favorite chair. I have dressed her in brown tones
with laces that are dyed a warm ivory, and given her a handmade
wool penny purse to add personality and charm. Her fingers,
being wired, can be crossed or posed to hold something, perhaps
a small doll, animal or basket. Lettie is fairly simple in basic
design, but there are many details that I feel really give her
her personality. All directions are given for each step and
are easy to complete. All of my patterns come with a clear color
photo on the cover for easy reference.
