Message from Fran Banas

I have been making dolls along with being an avid quilter for over 20 years. Over the last few years, cloth doll making has become my passion.

If you are new to doll making, please look into Yahoo groups for lists to become members of. There are many to choose from. I kept to myself for a very long time until I joined various doll making lists and read posts from doll makers. I cannot begin to thank all these wonderful members for their support and friendship.

Over time, I began learning more from fellow doll making friends about their shared techniques and ideas. Through the internet, I've met wonderful doll makers from all over the world. My passion and desire for making cloth dolls sky rocketed and is a major part of every day in my life. I believe all my "roads traveled" led me to where I am today. In retrospect, it's not a coincidence that I am now opening the CLOTH DOLL SUPPLY website!

As it happened, a member on one of my doll lists, {Thank you Helen!} e-mailed me to make me aware that a wonderful doll designer named Barbara Graff of Kith & Kin Designs, lived near me. I immediately signed up to take a class taught by her on her doll design "Woman." I love Barbara Graff's designs as so many others do also. Barbara is an outstanding teacher and I have learned so much from her mentoring me in her art of doll making. We have become good friends. In fact, it is Barbara who I have to thank for the idea of opening this supply site. As she tells it, she "put the bee in my bonnet!" Thank you Barbara for your friendship and support. I will never forget how exciting that day was for both of us!

I feel so blessed to have this opportunity to serve the needs of fellow cloth doll makers.

Thank you...every one of you!

Sincerely,

Fran Banas
